Microsoft announced it would be using Dundas Charting Technology as the engine to render charts with the release of SQL Server 2008. Dundas charting technology has been around for a number of years and is respected for its ability to help end users make decisions based on reviewing easy to use charts rather than raw data. Microsoft CRM users will benefit from this announcement as Microsoft CRM reports are delivered using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services technology, therefore all reports developed using Reporting Server 2008 will have access to the Dundas Charting Technology. I’ve started to receive the following error whilst trying to manually track an email being sent to a customer. Screenshot of the error received in the application log. An error occurred while promoting a Microsoft CRM e-mail message. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x80040237. Context=. Function=CMailItemHelper::HrPromoteMailItemInCrm. Line=1668. It seems many other people have the same problem and that Microsoft have acknowledged it as a defect which was introduced through client rollup 4. Microsoft have recently released update rollup 5 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (KB 970141).
